Embark has finally revealed The Finals Season 5, detailing a host of new additions to the destructive free-to-play FPS game. Coming on December 12th, the game’s newest season marks the one year celebration of the studio’s brilliant multiplayer title.
Dubbed the “most exciting season yet”, The Finals Season 5 brings an awesome new map to the game, more weapons, a Club System and even more for players to stick their teeth into. After the last two awesome seasons, the game is only getting better.
The Finals Season 5 adds Bernal
The new map for Season 5, Bernal is a stunning looking new arena based on Latin-American architecture. Surrounded by lush foliage and a huge mountain scape, the map is the game’s most beautiful map since the addition of Kyoto.
“Traverse the narrow, cobblestone streets of its colorful colonial plaza which serves as the map’s heart, leap from rooftop to rooftop, or carve your own path right through the walls. With destructible environments, turn Bernal’s historic charm into the Arena of your dreams. Will you uncover its secrets or leave it in ruins?” reads the map’s description.
The Finals Season 5 new weapons
To expand the already-substantial sandbox of the game, Embark has added two new weapons to The Finals with the addition of Season 5. Furthermore, the game is bringing two additional gadgets, one for light users and another for heavies. They are as follows:
ShAK-50: A heavy-hitting rifle for the Heavy that fires two bullets per shot, delivering immense stopping power with each pull of the trigger.
Cerberus 12GA: A break-action triple shotgun for the Medium loaded with incendiary shells that can set both contestants and the environment ablaze.
Gravity Vortex: a deployable gadget for the Light with a remote trigger that creates a local singularity that pulls in everything around it, including objectives, players and objects.
Lockbolt Launcher: a gadget for the Heavy that shoots an anchor into the environment that captures and holds up to three targets. Players are still able to move when anchored but they won’t get far.
Clubs and Sponsors
A major addition to the game, Embark has added its own take on a Clan system for The Finals Season 5. While other games like Helldivers 2 are still waiting for their clan system, Embark has already created its own tool that players friends to create and join clubs with others.
Once you join a club, you’ll get access to various benefits. For example, a new club bonus will give you extra XP and Fans for competing alongside other members and it’ll be easier to find mates to play with.
Furthermore, the game’s Sponsors system—added in Season 4—is getting a refresh with all but one sponsor wiped from the table. This time, you’ll be able to pick from VAIIYA, DISSUN, or the returning ISEUL-T! If you were loyal to ISEUL-T last time, you’ll have access to a second tier of awesome rewards.
Finally, there will be new limited-time modes such as Snowball Blitz for Christmas, balance updates to keep the game fresh and fair, as well as massive updates to Quick Cash.
