The next Tetris 99 Grand Prix will take place this weekend and feature Monster Hunter Rise, Nintendo has announced.
The 25th iteration of the free-to-play puzzle battle royale’s series of collaborations finds them teaming with Capcom. It’ll see the board, pieces, music and more all given a Monster Hunter Rise appropriate makeover. In case you’re unfamiliar with the the format, playing games will get you points, with more points given for higher finishes. Collect 100 points before the event’s conclusion, and you get to keep the theme.
It’s been quite the busy few weeks for Capcom’s latest entry in the Monster Hunter series. Just last week, it revealed a PC release date for Monster Hunter Rise alongside new features like 4K support. There’s also a Ghosts n Goblins crossover on the way, and all that’s before the new Sunbreak expansion lands next Summer.
Tetris 99 meanwhile had plenty of Grand Prixes in the past. These have included its own collaborations with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD and WarioWare: Get it Together! to name but two. The Tetris 99 Monster Hunter Rise Grand Prix kicks off from 8am UK time on October 8. It runs until October 12 at 7:59am.
