Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi has confirmed that he won’t be involved in the development of Resident Evil 6, revealing there are other projects he’d like to work on.

Speaking to 4Gamer, Takeuchi said: “I’m not involved in Resident Evil 6. There’s actually a number of things I want to do.”

Pressed on what these projects are, he added: “If I say it like that, it might be taken as ‘next game,’ but before reaching the step of making a game, we – Japanese developers – have a lot of things that we must do. To begin, I have a number of things I’d like to do related to Capcom as a whole.”

Takeuchi also said that he’ll be out of the spotlight for a short while, but this year will see some surprises coming out of Capcom.

“This year’s Capcom is very interesting. The titles we’ll announce in the future will surprise many people. We’ll be announcing this year the things that [Keiji] Inafune and I have been working on over the past year.”
