Take-Two Interactive has an “extraordinary array” of titles planned for release on next-generation consoles, the firm’s CEO Strauss Zelnick has suggested.

Speaking during the company’s Q3 2013 earnings call last night, Zelnick said that the firm, which owns Rockstar Games and 2K Games, was “planning as well as [it] can” for the next-generation, and that the firm is “extremely well positioned” to head into a new console cycle.

“In terms of next-gen, look, as we all know, first of all, nothing has been announced yet, but assuming the consoles are coming when some of us at least think they are, that’s obviously a very light installed base initially,” Zelnick said in response to a question asking how the company plans to “straddle” development on both current and next generation platforms.

“And I’m confident that this company is going to have an extraordinary array of offerings for next-gen when the time comes.”

Zelnick later added that Take-Two’s responsibility was to “make the highest quality interactive entertainment and meet consumers where they are, wherever they are in the world, whatever device they want to consume our products on, and be flexible about the business models as well.”

And he believes that Take-Two’s development teams, which includes GTA 5 developer Rockstar North, “have a burning desire to bring consumers what they want, when they want it.

“I’m convinced we’re going to keep doing that.”

2K Czech is currently rumoured to be working on a next-generation title in the Mafia series, with a next-gen version of GTA 5 also rumoured to be in the pipe.

Sony is expected to be the first platform holder to announce plans for the next-generation, with many hoping for a PlayStation 4 reveal on February 20.
