If you’ve been playing through Kuro Games’ latest free-to-play, open-world RPG since launch, you may have already encountered one of Wuthering Waves’ most challenging Hologram bosses in Tempest Mephis. With its vast array of hard-hitting, lightning-quick moves, this hulking Electro-demon has even drawn comparisons to Elden Ring’s Malenia for its difficulty. Luckily, unlike the Goddess of Rot, there is a way you can beat Tempest Mephis without actually having to go toe-to-toe with it.
Reddit user Taoist-Being recently shared a ‘cheese’ strat you can use to take down Tempest Mephis in one fell swoop. However, you’ll have to unlock a few things before heading to its dreaded arena. First and most importantly, you’ll need to get the Inferno Rider Bike Mount by defeating the Inferno Rider: Blazing Guardian boss at the Sea of Flames. You also need to have Encore on your team because her slow-moving, long-range ‘Q’ skill is crucial in drawing the boss out of the arena.
Of course, you can use another long-range character, like Chixia, if you don’t have Encore (though you’ll have to do some dodging based on Mobile_Vegetable7632’s clip). If you already have both things, you can head to Tempest Mephis’s location to begin the battle. Before you start the fight, make sure you’re on your bike mount so you can ride it out of the arena while activating the challenge simultaneously. Once you’re out, take note of the deepest part of the water surrounding the area because that’ll be your best friend for this strat.
Then, using Encore, use your ‘Q’ skill to attract the boss’s attention. Before it hits, quickly swim to the deep portion of the water and wait for Tempest Mephis to kill Encore there. This is because, once the death animation finishes, Tempest Mephis will follow her into the water, which ultimately leads to it drowning and giving you the automatic win. It’s also important to note that you cannot switch characters or use transformation skills while performing this strat because it’ll cause the boss to lose track of you.
