Flight Sims certainly aren’t for everyone, but if you’ve always had a dream to virtually take to the skies, now you have a chance to do so for free. The demo weighs in at around 650 MB and includes a couple of mission flights and two airports, which you’ll no doubt crash into. You’ll also be able to take some snaps of your time in the air and send them to all your mates – they will be pleased.

It’s worth noting that Flight Simulator X is a bit of a monster when it comes to system specs. The 6800 GT we tested it on wasn’t too keen to pump out a smooth frame rate. If you want to have any kind of control over your plane, you’re probably best off using a flight controller or a control pad, although the mouse is an option.

The demo can be downloaded at most good download sites, including 3D Gamers.
