Original PlayStation classic Syphon Filter will get trophy support when it arrives on the new PlayStation Plus next month.

Bend Studio confirmed the news via its Twitter account – as spotted by our friends at PlayStation Trophies. The team also confirmed that the game will even have its own Platinum trophy to earn as well. Perfect for completionists or trophy hunters in general.

It’s certainly interesting to note – given the game of course originally launched in the days before Trophies were even a thing. There’s been no word yet if the other classic games will receive similar treatment from PlayStation. We’ll have to wait and see, but Sony – if you’re taking requests our Josh would definitely like a reward for his tireless efforts of capturing every monkey in Ape Escape, thank you very much.

Syphon Filter was one of several classic games that’ll be available via PlayStation Plus Premium at launch. We also learned that some of the games in the line-up may be available to purchase individually. Other games for the service confirmed include the rumoured Tekken 2, Mr Driller and more. And of course, we’re promised more games will be added to the service over time.

The new PlayStation Plus with the newly trophied-up Syphon Filter will launch first in Asia from next week, May 23. Then it’ll make its way to the America region on June 13, followed by the UK and Europe on June 22.
