A fourth entry in the long running adventure series is on the way with Syberia: The World Before dated for a December release on PC.
Players will once more step into the shoes of Kate Walker in this latest entry. However, this time the story dovetails with that of Dana Roze, a 17 year old trainee pianist at the start of the Second World War. You’ll control both characters across both 1937 and 2004 as both women unveil a mysterious plot in “traditional Syberia fashion.”
You’ll be exploring the “fantastic and poetic” world created by author and comic book artist Benoit Sokal. The game also boasts a soundtrack by Dragon Age and Prince of Persia composer Inon Zur.
The last Syberia game was Syberia 3 which launched back in 2017, you may remember former editor Colm covering it as part of his excellent For Your Amusement series. The first game meanwhile launched all the way back in 2002, so the series is just about to celebrate it’s 20th anniversary.
Syberia: The World Before launches for PC on December 10. You can also download a Prologue chapter right now via Steam. The game is also set to come to consoles, though which ones are still to be confirmed, in 2022.
