XCOM: Chimera Squad is a new spin-off title set in the XCOM universe, and it launches next week (via Gematsu).
“After years of alien rule, humanity won the war for Earth. But when the Overlords fled the planet, they left their former soldiers behind. Now, five years after the events of XCOM 2, humans and aliens are working together to forge a civilization of cooperation and coexistence,” reads the game’s description. In City 31, the Chimera Squad take on those who would fracture the new era of interspecies alliance. Turn-based tactical combat encounters will be unique with the squad’s colourful cast of characters. Each uses their own special tactical abilities to secure success, and new breach-and-clear gameplay refreshes XCOM’s established approaches.
