News of a Super Mario All-Stars Special Edition for Wii has been leaked from a Nintendo retailer briefing in Japan.
All-Stars was released back in 1993 for the SNES, featuring graphically updated versions of NES games Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels.
The new special edition will come bundled with a soundtrack CD containing tracks spanning the entire franchise, plus a booklet on the history of the jumping plumber. There’s no indication that the games will receive another graphical overhaul.
It’ll be out soon, too. The leaked info puts the title down for release on October 21, 2010 at a budget price of approximately £20.
Nintendo UK has told MCV that everything you’ve just read “is purely rumour and speculation”.
