This year’s Summer Games Done Quick has come to a record-breaking close, raising $1,760,400 for Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières). It finished early this morning, smashing last year’s $1.3 million total in one fell swoop. Not bad folks, not bad at all.
2017 has been the most successful year yet for Games Done Quick, with the January stream raising over $2 million. Sharing the news on Twitter, Games Done Quick is deservedly chuffed with its performance this time around.

There were a number of highlights this year, including a Nier: Automata speedrun in which Halfcoordinated completed the game in one hour, 43 minutes and five seconds… with one hand. One hand. Halfcoordinated we salute you.
Games Done Quick is a twice-yearly charity gaming marathon, with a summer and a winter event. Volunteers play games at speed (‘Speedrunning’) for entertainment and donations to charity, and the event is streamed live, non-stop.. Even though the event is over you can still donate.
