Stardew Valley is getting banana trees in the next update that rolls out for the popular pixelated farming simulator (via Nintendo Life).
The next update will include the following fruit tree:

Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, developer of Stardew Valley, put a poll to the player community to decide which fruit tree would be added to the game. Of 123,000 votes, passionfruit secured 13.6 per cent of the votes, then avocados got a little over a quarter of the votes. Ahead (but not by much) were mango trees, and the winner with 30.6 per cent of the votes were banana trees.
Thanks for voting… Banana is the winner! Looks like mango is the runner up… pic.twitter.com/eQqiZ4Gf6Z

The new fruit will presumably be bundled in with content update 1.5, though we aren’t sure when that will be released. Content update 1.4 came out in late 2019, but it was a bumper crop of new features and options, so it would be understandable if Barone and the team are taking it slightly slower this time round. Also, Barone announced that he is developing two Stardew Valley spin-offs. “One takes place in the world of Stardew Valley, but is not a farming game. The other, I'm not 100% sure about the world yet, but it will tie into Stardew Valley in some way,” he explained.
Stardew Valley is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch.
