Liam Robertson of Unseen64 and Did You Know Gaming? revealed on his Patreon-exclusive podcast that BioWare Austin is working on a new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (via PC Gamer).

After stating that BioWare Austin is exclusively working on Star Wars games currently, Robertson said, ‘What they’re currently working on right now—and I have this on good authority—is a sort of remake/revival of Knights of the Old Republic. I don’t know when this is set to come out, but it has been in development for a little while now.’

Robertson added that the project was initially a remake, but its ‘sort of its own original thing’ now.  He was clear that this isn’t KOTOR 3, before claiming it was something that will ’embrace the new Star Wars universe lore,’ and is being prototyped at the minute.

With Respawn Entertainment working on a Star Wars game, and DICE and Motive developing Star Wars: Battlefront 2, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that this rumour could come to fruition. Time will tell.
