Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will, apparently, be the name of the sequel to EA’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

The news arrives courtesy of Jeff Grub, who works for VentureBeat. On his podcast, Grubbsnax (a terrific name), confirmed the guess of one of his audience in the live chat:

If you skip to the 1:17:00 mark, you will see Grubb suppress a playful smile and then confirm the guess. So there we have it. Survivor. If this does, indeed, turn out to be the game’s title, what does it mean? In the first game, Cal Kestis, survived, among other things, a run in with Darth Vader.

Cal wasn’t not a survivor in the first game, given that he was a Jedi who was trying to evade the Empire’s concerted attempt to find and kill him. Still, I suppose now we know that he will continue to survive. Or maybe the title is in reference to another person or persons who has done a lot of surviving. We’ll simply have to wait and see.

I like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It was fun, and it took risks. In my review of the game, I said:

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has a string of wisely chosen influences, and it delivers on the long-overdue promise of a fun Jedi action-adventure. Bugs and design wrinkles irritate.”

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is scheduled for release next year.
