GSC Game World has just released Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition, a massive graphical overhaul for the studio’s beloved open-world survival games. Available as an update to the trilogy on console and a free upgrade for PC players of the classic titles, the trilogy is rolling out right now.

The new version of the trilogy gives Shadow of Chornobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Prypiat a huge refresh “with enhanced graphics, next-gen console optimizations, and broader modding support”. While old mods will be incompatible with the new versions, they do benefit from Steam Workshop Support on Steam.

To celebrate the release of the newly remastered trilogy, GSC Game World is also performing a giveaway on its official Discord server. Players who don’t already own the new remasters will be able to win the full package right here.

While the Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition is rolling out right now, it may be a few hours until the game is available to download on your account. For example, our Steam libraries have updated to show the games, but they’re still unavailable to download at the time of writing.

Alongside the new remasters of the previous games in the series, GSC is also still working on continued updates for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. With the game’s major 1.4 update recently reviving A-Life to some degree, the team is still adding mod support for PC and Xbox as well as other major features detailed in the game’s recent roadmap.

Additionally, the studio is working on massive expansions for the game that will offer “fresh new perspectives on the Zone”. While the sequel did launch with some massive issues, the studio is still working to make the game the best possible Stalker experience possible and, as someone who already adored the broken base game, it’s a very exciting time to be a fan.
