Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl developer GSC Game World has just released the game’s latest Patch 1.3 update, but the team is far from done.
As the studio works on getting its update roadmap ready for release as well as more accessible mod tools, the developers have reiterated their plans to keep supporting the survival game for years to come.
Stalker 2 updates are “just the beginning”
In a just-released trailer, GSC Game World explained that the recent slew of updates since launch are “just the beginning” for the future of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
As the studio plans new expansions that offer fresh perspectives on the Zone and continue to work on the game’s A-Life simulation, the team has re-confirmed its dedication to making the game more enjoyable to play.
“Spring is always exceptionally charming. After the harsh winter season, it’s time to take a deep breath of fresh air,” the developer said in a recent Discord post. “Thanks to your continuous support and feedback, the Zone is becoming a better place. We know what things stalkers have discussed in bars and near campfires this winter. We always listen to stalker’s stories.”
The developer explained that the team is still paying attention to fan feedback after the game’s troubled launch. While a multiplayer version of the game is in the works, the team is focused on bringing the title’s single-player offering up to snuff.
“Our current focus is enhancing the single-player experience, with further details on their way,” the team explained. “Quite a few changes have already been made — we listen and hear you, and we’re moving forward steadily.”
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has come a very long way since launch, but it’s still far from perfect. As it stands, the brilliant survival experience does have a much improved A-Life experience since release, but the advanced AI systems leave a lot to be desired.
Nevertheless, the latest Stalker game is still an extremely fun time. While there are major issues, fans are also modding their own takes on the game such as the nihilistic Desolation mod that makes the game ten times harder. Other fans have even modded in awesome parkour mechanics to give you more advantage in the Zone.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is available right now on Xbox Series and PC. No PS5 version of the game is in the works at the time of writing.
