DarkSeas Games has been successful in its Kickstarter funding push for Road Redemption, a motorcycle combat-racing game heavily influenced by the Road Rash series.

In the end the $160,000 target was easily beaten, with a total of $173,803 raised – sadly $5,000 short of the Xbox LIVE Arcade stretch goal.

“We want to thank you all again for supporting Road Redemption,” said the developer. “Being able to work full time on this game is a dream come true for us. We can’t thank you enough.

“In the coming days, we’ll be opening up the official Road Redemption developer’s forum, in addition to collecting info for those whose names and likenesses will be featured in Road Redemption.”

In addition, Road Redemption is on Stream Greenlight and needs some up-votes in order to ensure the game is supported by Steam on its release – planned for August 2014.

A Wii U version is also planned.
