Sony’s planned 4K movie download service is likely to be supported by the PlayStation 4, Sony Electronics president and COO Phil Molyneux has told The Verge.

“We’ll give you more details in due course, but I promise you will not be disappointed,” said Molyneux when asked about the service coming to the new console.

Support for the new video format is one thing, but consumers face a challenge actually downloading the files – Molyneux says a movie will come it at over 100GB, meaning you’re going to need a fast and uncapped connection.

For the time being digital will be the only way to distribute the 4K movies, with it undecided if a physical media will be created.

Our minds were blown that another Molynuex exists and is working for Sony. Steve also once saw a train conductor called Peter Molynuex.
