Sony won’t be holding a press conference at Gamescom, either, according to French website Jeux Video.
The website claims to have spoken directly to PlayStation France, who told them that “there will be no PlayStation conference at GamesCom”. VideoGamer has contacted PlayStation UK to verify the report and will update once we hear back.
The news was actually posted last week, ahead of Microsoft’s announcement yesterday that it would not have a press conference at next month’s show, instead choosing to focus on an event intended for fans.
Sony skipped hosting a press conference at last year’s event too, of course, instead hosting one at Paris Games Week later in the year. It isn’t yet clear whether the platform holder intends to do the same thing this year.
Gamescom kicks off in Cologne, Germany on August 17.
