SCEE is putting "a big spend" behind The Last of Us Remastered's marketing campaign that will see TV ads aired across multiple UK channels and takeovers at major London stations.

According to trade magazine MCV, television ads will be appearing on ITV, Channel 4 and Sky, with takeover ads at London Waterloo and a number of other London Underground stations. The game will also be marketed across various websites, "male lifestyle publications", social media and the platform holder's own YouTube channel.

The budget set aside for marketing has not been disclosed.

"The Last of Us is the game of a generation, winner of over 200 Game of the Year Awards and five BAFTAs," said product manager Josh Walker. "It is now fully realised for the world's most powerful console. Pre-orders are looking strong and we're currently hitting our trajectory targets so we expect it to sell well."

The first screenshots of The Last of Us Remastered are believed to have leaked online earlier this week, with further information - and possibly the first gameplay footage - due to be revealed next week.

The game launches exclusively on PlayStation 4 on August 1.
