Sony has increased the price of Horizon Zero Dawn on the PSN store, following an announcement of the game’s new PS5 remaster.
Prior to the news, the game could be picked up on the store for $19.99 or £18.99. However, it’s since gone up to $39.99 in the US, and £34.99 in the UK.
Horizon Zero Dawn price increase
Just days before the recent reveal, the PlayStation exclusive was available at a fixed price of $19.99 on PSN. The game’s sequel, Forbidden West, was also included in PlayStation Plus Premium. This is no longer the case.
The Remaster, which will be coming to PC and PS5, includes new motion captured scenes for the game’s dialogue. Those playing on PS4 will be able to upgrade to this version for just $9.99.
For those who don’t own the original yet, and are looking to upgrade from their PS4 version, you’ll be hit with this new price. The game currently priced at $39.99, you’ll need to spend another $9.99 on the upgrade, bringing the total price to a shade under $50. The full price of the new remaster is also $49.99.
The good news is that the PS5 and PC upgrade will feature Horizon: Forbidden West’s lighting and shadows system as well as improvedfoliage and other visual additions. There’s also a far better framerate, as the PS4 version was locked at 30 FPS. However, PC players will have to deal with a new PSN login.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be released on October 31, 2024 for PS5 and PC.
This is a developing story.
