As its fans will attest, Sea of Thieves is the gift that keeps on giving. Rare has been gearing up for the next big update to the live service game and we don’t have long to go for the Sea of Thieves season 13 start time. Rare announced the upcoming season and its planned content a while ago, but now the date is finally here. With new world events and map changes, there’s going to be plenty to do in season 13 when it launches in July.
When does Sea of Thieves Season 13 come out?
At the time of writing, we know that Sea of Thieves season 13 will go live Thursday, 25 July 2024. Rare has also confirmed the game’s servers will go offline at 11AM BST on July 25. When the servers go down, the game will be unplayable for an unknown number of hours until the update has been deployed and the new season starts. This downtime was confirmed in a Tweet, but that’s all we have to go on.
In the past, server downtime has typically lasted three to four hours, but this can vary between updates. For Season 12, the game was offline for more than three hours to deploy the patch. When the game comes back online, the download will be available across all platforms.
Sea of Thieves season 13 UK start time estimate
Due to how server maintenance can vary, we estimate that the start time for the next season will be at around 4pm BST. This is a generous estimate and it is highly likely the game will be available an hour or two before that. With no word from Rare about server downtime, it’s impossible to say when the update will go live.
Sea of Thieves season 13 US start time estimate
Using the above assumption, if the game goes like at 4pm in the UK, that would mean the update will be playable and live as of 8am PDT / 11am EDT. Once again, this is an estimate and it could well be available earlier.
