Epic, creators of Fortnite, has just launched its latest twist on the battle royale formula in the form of free-to-play offering, Rumbleverse.

Similar to other games in the genre, Rumbleverse sees forty players dropped into a map known as Grapital City, with the aim of being the last person (or Duo) standing. However, rather than guns, the focus is on melee combat.

The game is live now, and there’s a trailer which you can watch below. Players are being given a one week grace period to get to grips with the game before Rumbleverse Season 1 starts in earnest next week.

Here’s everything you need to know about Rumbleverse Season 1.

Rumbleverse Season 1 – release date and more

Rumbleverse Season 1 proper kicks off in a week’s time, on Thursday, August 18.

As for specific times, the Rumbleverse Support Twitter account has said servers will go live for the game at 9am CST, that’s 3pm UK time.

The download, however, won’t be live until then – sadly, there doesn’t seem to be a pre-load before then either. Fingers crossed that the servers will be able to handle the surge of new players, then.

On launch day, Iron Galaxy has confirmed there’ll be two gear packs for sale. Namely, the Founder’s Pack and the Starter Pack.

The former comes with several kung-fu inspired outfits in a range of five colours, and 2,000 Brawlla Bills. That’s the game’s own premium currency, if you’re wondering.

Alternatively, the Starter Pack includes a gloriously pink, white and yellow leotard and giant Unicorn mask. It’ll also include 600 Brawlla Bills to spend on whatever else you’d like in the in-game store.

As per the blog post, there’ll be plenty of other cosmetics to get your hands on in the game itself, including through Fan Mail.

Rumbleverse Season 1 Battle Pass

The team has also confirmed there’ll be a Battle Pass that’ll arrive at the beginning of Season One.

At the time of writing, Iron Galaxy are yet to confirm exactly what will be in the Rumbleverse Season 1 battle pass.

However, the game’s FAQ has revealed the cost of the pass. The standard Battle Pass will cost you 1000 Brawlla Bills. Or you can buy the pass and skip 20 tiers for 2400 Brawlla Bills.

Brawlla Bills themselves are available in four bundles in the following denominations:

  • 1100 for $9.99
  • 2500 for $19.99
  • 6500 for $49.99
  • 14000 for $99.99

Duos Mode

What we now know is that Duos Mode will be going live on August 11, allowing you to fight side by side with a friend and share loot,

You start with eight slots for your stats and less max health than when you play alone. If your buddy gets eliminated more max health and stats slots are awarded to balance the fight.

Your teammate can be ‘downed’ and will need your help, which involves you standing over them and pressing the ‘interact’ button.

Playground Mode

Elsewhere, there’s a brand new Playground Mode – which offers a free-roam experience. You’ll be able to roam Grapital City exploring neighborhoods and seeking out training modules.

You’re also able to do this with a friend – and if you’re eliminated, a quick press of the option’ button will see you respawned nearby.

You can find more information on the latest PS Blog post.

Rumbleverse will be available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.

The game also supports cross-platform play, letting you party up with friends regardless of format. Your progression is also saved across all of them.
