3D Realms, Destructive Creations and Apogee Software have announced that they are to bring a remastered version of 1994 FPS Rise of the Triad to consoles and PC next year.
The announcement came via a video shown during the weekend's Realms Deep 2020 event, and revealed that the remaster will include widescreen support, revamped multiplayer and, naturally for a modern FPS, mouselook. Rise of the Triad is a bloody (well, for 1994) FPS that ran on the Wolfenstien 3D engine and was supposedly originally intended as a sequel to the classic WWII shooter before it was spun off to be its own thing. This remaster is not to be mistaken for the Rise of the Triad remake that came out for PC in 2013.
There's not a huge amount more to go on, although we're told the remaster is set for release on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC sometime in 2021. You can check out the reveal video for Rise of the Triad: Remastered below.
