A UK retail source has confirmed to MCV that once current stock of the PSPgo is sold the handheld will disappear from stores.

According to the source, no further stock of the PSPgo will be supplied to the retail channel.

The news follows rumours of the PSPgo’s imminent end in Japan.

Despite growing evidence that the handheld’s time is up, Sony remains non-committal on the subject.

Earlier today SCE UK told MCV: “It is a very exciting time for PlayStation portable devices. Before the end of the year we are launching NGP, our next generation portable device, which we believe will revolutionise portable gaming.

“In the meantime, the current generation of PSPs continue to be in demand, especially since the introduction of our value for money, Essentials range of games and we will continue to meet that demand.”
