California-based developer Respawn has registered a trademark for “TITAN”, as spotted on the website of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The application was filed on April 11, relating to “video and computer game programs; video games discs; video game software”.

It’s not clear if TITAN is the name of Respawn’s first game, and if not, how else the name could be related to the developer.

Respawn is expected to announce its unannounced title at E3 in early June.

The studio is headed up by ex-Infinity Ward CEO Vince Zampella.

Blizzard has been working on a new MMO, codenamed Titan, for years now, so it does seem a little odd that Respawn is potentially confusing its audience with the Titan name.
