Remnant 2 The Awakened King DLC release date, new features, and trailers

If you’ve been itching to get back into the thick of things with Gunfire Games’s hellish shoot ’em up, you finally can once the Remnant 2 DLC release date kicks off. Following its pleasantly surprising and highly successful launch back in July 2023, the upcoming expansion is shaping up to be an equally exciting affair filled with even more run-and-gun action against mythical creatures hellbent on ruining your experience.

Of course, with the impending launch of The Awakened King DLC, you’ll finally be able to dust off your best Remnant 2 Gunslinger build once again so you can mow down aggressive combatants with ease. Before you jump back into the game to take care of the Root, however, here’s what you need to know about the release date of the next expansion.

Remnant 2 DLC release date

The Remnant 2 DLC release date will be on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If you only bought the game’s standard edition at launch, you can access the DLC by purchasing it at your platform’s respective store for $9.99. Alternatively, you can get the DLC bundle for $24.99 instead, which not only lets you play the expansion but also enables you to jump into additional future pieces of DLC once Gunfire Games has launched them.

Remnant 2 DLC new features

Entitled The Awakened King, this expansion brings multiple new features, including a new storyline, more dungeons, and additional areas in the realm of Losomn. Gunfire Games will also be introducing a new archetype called The Ritualist, which makes use of debilitating status effects to hinder and torment combatants.

Naturally, the DLC also includes a slew of new weapons, modifications, amulets, and rings that can all help bolster your preferred builds. Naturally, the developers will also bring in a healthy serving of new enemies to make the experience more exciting, though what these will be or what they will look like remains unclear at the time of writing.

Remnant 2 DLC story

According to Gunfire Games and Gearbox Publishing’s announcement, Remnant 2 The Awakened King DLC will revolve around the tragic and revenge-filled tale of the One True King. You’ll be tasked with uncovering secrets that shine more light on the tyrant’s vengeful nature as you continue on the path to end his reign of terror. Of course, this means the game will give you the chance to explore the new realm in Losomn, which contains perilous new dungeons and equally deadly weapons that’ll help make your quest easier.

Remnant 2 DLC trailers

Gunfire Games has only provided one trailer for the Remnant 2 DLC so far, and it showcases some of the areas and enemies you can expect at launch. It’s currently unclear whether the developer will provide more details closer to its release. However, we do expect additional snippets to be given out since this was merely a teaser that barely showcased the new features that’ll be arriving as part of the expansion.
