Red Dead Redemption Remastered has just been announced for December, but insider and game developer interviewer, Kiwitalkz, has insisted that a Red Dead Redemption 2 Remaster is still coming, although there’s no guarantee as to when.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 Remaster has been anticipated with bated breath ever since prominent leaker, NateTheHate, said that it does “exist”. However, following the announcement of a remaster for John Marston’s tale, fans have worried that perhaps there was an error in communication concerning which game would be upgraded.
Since the RDR announcement, NateTheHate has stressed that they were “specifically” told about Red Dead Redemption 2. In addition, Kiwitalkz has said, “RDR1’s next gen release doesn’t mean RDR2 ain’t a thing,” and “people panicking need to chill out, it will come at some point”.
Neither Kiwitalkz nor NateTheHate have suggested a release date for the game. Kiwitalkz says he never gives estimated release dates “because the devs don’t get to decide those things”. The game developer interviewer, who has interviewed numerous sources from Rockstar, further added that “They might release it in the next 6 months they might wait 3 years, who knows with Rockstar”.
Red Dead Redemption Remastered Coming Soon
Red Dead Redemption Remastered is officially coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2nd. The game will also land on Android, iOS, and Netflix.
Per Rockstar, for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S the upgrade will run at a “smooth 60 frames per second,” and it will also feature “enhanced image quality, HDR support, and resolutions up to 4K”. On Nintendo Switch 2, there will be “support for DLSS, HDR, mouse controls, and the same fluid 60 frames per second gameplay”.
If you already bought Red Dead Redemption when it was ported to PS4 and Nintendo Switch, the good news is that you will be able to upgrade digitally for free. The free upgrade is also available for owners of the “digital backward compatible version on Xbox One”.
While Red Dead Redemption is great, we were hoping for Red Dead Redemption 2. It is one of the greatest video games of all time, and it has even recently been crowned the fourth best-ever selling video game and will likely move up to third when the remaster eventually comes out.
With GTA 6 delayed until November 19th next year, here’s hoping RDR2 Remastered comes out before then. Everyone adores the tale of Arthur Morgan, including Dan Houser who believes Arthur is the best lead character Rockstar has ever created, albeit in a toss-up with Niko from GTA 4.
