A new Horde Mode has been added to the recent FPS remaster Quake Enhanced Edition in its latest update.

Bethesda announced the addition to the legendary shooter last night, available to all players as a free download. The mode sees you and up to three friends dive into bespoke arenas to take on waves of enemies. Surviving the masses lets you unlock weapons and powerups, allowing you to last longer. The challenge is to last as long as you can.

In addition, the new update also brings along fan favourite mod Honey as a free Add-on. This mini-campaign tasks you with exploring a series of waterlogged crypts and underground temples, as you battle a deadly plague. Notably, MachineGames senior level designer Christian Grawert created the mod, giving it an extra badge of quality.

Finally, the update also allows players to unlock a couple of skins for Doom Eternal and Quake Champions.  Both of these skins are based on Quake‘s Ranger character, and require a Bethesda.net login to claim. Nintendo Switch owners will also get these skins in their own version of the Doom Eternal 6.66 update, which is due sometime in early 2022.

The Quake Enhanced Edition remasters launched as a surprise during this year’s Quakecon to mark the 25th anniversary of the series. The new update is available now in the game on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
