Sony has announced that PS4 update 5.50 is on the horizon, with the hardware giant now in the process of testing the patch ahead of its official roll out. As is usually the case, it wants your help in fine-tuning the experience, with beta sign ups now officially open in the US, Europe and Japan.

If you fancy getting stuck in on the action then you can register for the PS4 update 5.50 beta here. As always, you’ll need to be the master account holder and have access to the Internet to take part in the beta.

If you’re lucky enough to be selected for the taster then you’ll receive an email from Sony with instructions on how to get started. If for whatever reason you want out, you can opt to roll back to the previous PS4 update at any time.

Unfortunately Sony has yet to give us an idea of what’s coming in the next PS4 update, although we imagine it won’t be long until we find out some info. The previous patch introduced a number of key features for Sony’s flagship console, such as team tournaments, improvements to parental control, and family management.Â
