Sony has confirmed that PlayStation Vita games will be cheaper than high street prices when bought via the PlayStation Store. No exact price reduction has been confirmed, but US retailer Best Buy has put a 10 per cent discount on them.

The Best Buy listings were spotted by a NeoGAF user, with each game being offered at 10 per cent off the normal RRP.

Sony was quick to comment on the discount, confirming its existence but not its percentage.

“I can confirm that there will be a discount on the downloadable PS Vita titles from PSN. Exact details have not yet been revealed, but be on the lookout for an announcement in the very near future,” a Sony representative told ShackNews.

If you’re after a good PS Vita deal, Amazon is currently offering a free 8GB memory card with Vita purchases.

If 10 per cent is the standard discount, it’s better than nothing but in most cases probably won’t be cheaper than buying physical copies of games via online retailers. A chunkier discount would have made buying digital much more attractive.
