August has been a very strong month for PlayStation subscribers. The Essential offerings were great with LEGO Star Wars and FNAF, meanwhile, Extra has just recently added juggernauts like The Witcher 3. While this month has been excellent, September is shaping up to be even better. Two day one releases are confirmed as part of the PS Plus September 2024 games, and one is from a massive IP while the other is a cute platformer that looks amazing.

While next month is exciting for PlayStation subscribers, there is also a boatload of fantastic releases. The release date for Star Wars Outlaws arrives just before next month begins, but in September we have the release date for Astro Bot along with the release date for The Casting of Frank Stone. There’s also Epic Mickey Rebrushed and plenty more.

We cannot wait for Astro Bot and more next month, but we’re equally excited for the PS Plus September 2024 additions. Sony won’t reveal the full lineup until next week, but two huge day one releases are already confirmed as part of Essential and Extra.

Confirmed PS Plus September 2024 Essential and Extra games

Sony has confirmed two games joining PS Plus in September 2024 as part of the Essential and Extra tiers.

The Essential offerings will be released on September 3rd, and the day-one release confirmed by Sony is Harry Potter Quidditch Champions. This is developed by Unbroken Studios and, per the official FAQ, you will be able to “Play solo, or team up with friends in online co-op and online player vs. player (PvP) matches”.

It is the Standard edition joining PS Plus, so you will not have access to the bonuses that come with the Deluxe edition. It is a fantastic addition arriving next month, especially when it costs £24.99 on other platforms such as Steam for PC. You will be able to create your own wizard once more, and a career mode will allow you to live the dream of going from Quidditch rookie to Quidditch legend.

The other day one release joining PS Plus in September 2024 is Plucky Squire. This will join the Extra catalogue on September 17th.

Although it’s not a globally renowned and beloved IP like Harry Potter, Plucky Squire is still an incredible day one offering as it simply looks amazing. It looks ridiculously cute and innovative, and it has a gorgeous art style in both the 2D storybook world and the 3D world of humans.

In other PlayStation news, reports suggest Indiana Jones for Xbox is just a timed exclusive with a PS5 release set for 2025.
