June is an exciting month for PlayStation fans. We were recently treated to a State of Play event, and in just a few weeks PS5 fans will be able to enjoy the highly-anticipated Death Stranding 2. But, before Hideo Kojima’s wonderfully bizarre sequel comes out, new titles will be added to the libraries for PS Plus Extra and Premium. Here you will find the PS Plus Extra, Premium June 2025 games reveal date along with what’s already confirmed so far including a huge day-one release and beloved classic.
PS Plus June 2025 Extra and Premium games reveal date
The reveal date for the PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games is June 11th . Sony always reveals the Extra and Premium games on a Wednesday one week after the release of the Essentials. The June 2025 Essentials were given away on June 3rd, hence the impending announcement.
After the curtain has been pulled aside, the games will come out to play on June 17th. In regard to the July 2025 Essentials, they are expected to be identified on June 25th with launch on July 1st.
There are four Essential games to claim right now before they expire in July: NBA 2K25, the excellent Alone in the Dark remake, Bomb Rush Cyberpunk, and Destiny 2 The Final Shape. It’s important to note that the Final Shape is only available for those who own Destiny 2.
New Extra games confirmed
The only addition confirmed so far to be joining Extra on June 17th is the day-one release of FBC Firebreak. This is a cooky co-operative shooter from Remedy Entertainment set within the universe of Control. We were fortunate enough to be able to preview the game earlier this year, and we thought it was a lot of fun with plenty of post-launch potential.
As for more day-one releases, the recent State of Play announced Sword of the Sea will be joining Extra on August 19th. This is from the developers behind Journey, and, as you’d expect, it looks absolutely beautiful.
New Premium classics confirmed
Regarding classics for the Premium tier, subscribers will be treated to Deus Ex on June 17th. This is the PS2 version of the beloved classic as opposed to the PS1. If you don’t have a Premium subscription, you will presumably be able to buy Deus Ex from the PSN store similar to other PS2 classics like Tomb Raider Legend.
While the addition of Deus Ex is great, more upcoming Premium classics were announced during State of Play. These include Twisted Metal 3 and 4 for July 15th, as well as the original PS1 versions of Resident Evil 2 and 3 for “later this summer,” meaning presumably August.
Games leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025
Lastly, below is a list of games leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium on June 17th:
- Monster Hunter Rise
- Rogue Legacy 2
- Inscryption
- After Us
- Kayak VR: Mirage
- AVIICI Invector
While it’s not a huge list of departures, there are a couple of good games included. Monster Hunter Rise is another fantastic installment in the legendary Capcom series, meanwhile, Inscryption is an indie masterpiece that everyone needs to play.
In other gaming news, more Hideo Kojima has confirmed he is already working on his next game after Death Stranding 2.
