During Konami’s pre-E3 conference that took place in the early hours of this morning, Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 was announced for the Xbox 360, PC, PS2, PSP, and DS. Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 is due in January 2007, but Konami didn’t specify if this was a release date for Japan or for elsewhere.

Earlier today Konami cleared things up by announcing Pro Evolution 6 for release in Europe this year. As well as the expected PS2, PC and PSP versions, it will also be released on Nintendo DS and the Xbox 360.

Big changes are promised over previous games, with players being able to run off the ball, and the ability to pass with pin-point accuracy. AI is also said to be improved, with players finding space and adopting better defensive positions. Konami has also acquired a number of licences for international teams, meaning that the game will feature the real player names for members of the Argentina, Spain, Sweden, Italy and Holland teams.

We’ll bring you information on the European release date when we can, but for now take a look at the first released screen shots of the Xbox 360 version.
