This year the Power UP event is taking place in Manchester, at the Museum of Science and Industry, from August 11 to 28. Power UP is a family friendly games expo, featuring 160 consoles and games from the past 40 years right up to the now.

There’ll be games on show from Disney and LEGO, classics like Goldeneye, an array of bartop arcade machines, and more recent releases including Splatoon 2 and Tekken 7. Plus VR. Everyone loves VR.

Tickets are on sale at various tiers, from 90 minute sessions to all dayers, as well as activity workshops for games-related stuff like BASIC programming and chiptune music. You can also get evening tickets for adult only visits if, like me, you find children vaguely unsettling.Â
