The Pokemon Company has revealed that Nintendo Switch exclusives Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee have sold over three million copies in their first week on sale.

According to a translation of the Tweet (via Gematsu), this means both games have set a new record for Switch in terms of launch week sales. It will be interesting to see how they perform in the long run, and whether or not it can supplant Super Mario Odyssey as the best-selling game on the console.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee are two sides of the same coin, as it were. It's not the full-on Pokemon RPG that some fans have been waiting for (that's still coming), but rather attempts to appeal to both veteran and newcomers alike.

Still, the fact it's Pokemon means it was probably going to sell well regardless. Over in the UK, Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu performed slightly better than Eevee, debuting at number four.
