A new trailer has dropped for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, focusing on the trainers you’ll be battling in the remakes.

The main villains of the piece are the nefarious Team Galactic. Their mission is to use the power of time and space to mould the universe in their favour. To do this, they’ll need a couple of legendary Pokemon, and are hunting for Dialga and Palkia to use in their schemes.

They’re led by Cyrus and his Weavile. He’s a charismatic figure in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl who detests human minds and emotions, finding them weak. Before you get to him, you’ll have to defeat his commanders, Mars, Juputer and Saturn. Each one has their own team of Pokémon at their disposal, led by Purugly, Skuntank and Toxicroak, respectively.

As always, your journey will also see you cross paths with several gym leaders in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shimmering Pearl. There’s Candice of the Snowpoint City Gym. Her ice type Pokémon are sure to cause a chill in the air and are led by Abomasnow. Finally there’s Volkner, with Luxray and his team of Electric-type Pokémon who’s said to be the toughest trainer in Sinnoh.

The footage also gives us a glimpse of Legendary Pokémon who inhabit the three lakes of the Sinnoh region: Uxie, Mespirit and Azelf. Determined collectors will put their skills to the test if they want to catch ’em all.

As a bonus, the Pokémon Company also dropped a brief trailer for Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It gave us another look at the Hisuian forms of Zorua and Zoroark after their reveal last week, but this time how they’ll look in the game itself. You can check both trailers below.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl launch on November 19 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
