Persona 5 has just turned two-years-old in the west, and to mark the occasion, Atlus USA and Sega of America’s Naoto Hiraoka has confirmed that the critically acclaimed JRPG has now sold 2.4 million copies worldwide. The Asian market perhaps unsurprisingly accounts for a fair chunk of the game’s sales, too.

'At present, Persona 5 accounts for more than 2.4 million in global sales numbers. Since its launch, we have won many game awards, and received much feedback from fans. The response has been very enthusiastic,’ Hiraoka told GNN Gamer (via PSLS).

Atlus is currently working on a new entry in the series, known as Persona 5: The Royal. It’s coming to PlayStation 4, but other than that, we don’t know a great deal about it.

More info on the game will drop on April 24 during the Persona Super Live Concert in Japan.
