Famitsu.com has revealed that PaRappa the Rapper is making a comeback, not on the PlayStation 2, but for the first time on the PSP. The classic rhythm game first appeared on the PlayStation back in 1996 and also spawned the spin-off Um Jammer Lammy and a sequel on PlayStation 2.

The PSP game is a remake of the original PlayStation title, with the graphics being re-formatted to the handheld's widescreen format. The game will include all six raps from the game and will also be updated with wireless battles for up to four players.

PaRappa the Rapper is scheduled for release towards the end of the year in Japan, but there's currently no information regarding its release in other territories.
