Following its meteoric rise to success earlier this year it unexpectedly saw Palworld become one of the most-played games of all time on Steam, along with selling over 15 million copies in its first month and generating $500 million in revenue. The game has since fallen off as players moved on to other titles, which was expected by the developers who even encouraged players to not feel bad for leaving the gam while waiting for new content. But the recent Summer update has added lots of new content to Palworld, which has resulted in an 868% increase in players.

According to Steamdb, Palworld dropped to just 13,990 players on Steam before the Summer update. Following the Summer update, that figure has risen to 135,480, a 767% increase. This figure will no doubt be great news for the studio and shows the game still has an eager audience for fresh content.

With the overwhelming success of Palworld on PC and Xbox, it has been teased that a PlayStation port could be on the way. Don’t expect it on Nintendo Switch, but not because of its similarities to Pokémon. But for now, players on PC and Xbox can check out the new Sakurajima update, which includes a brand new island to explore and catch Pals on. PVP is finally here as Palworld now has an Arena mode that pits players against each other, and the level cap has been increased to 55, which players are already finding daunting due to the steep XP curve.
