Overwatch’s Wrecking Ball hero out next week

Overwatch's latest hero is due out on July 24, developer Blizzard Entertainment has announced. In case you missed it, Wrecking Ball is basically a weaponised escape pod piloted by a fury chap named Hammond. 

Hammond also happens to be a hamster, which to be fair makes a lot of sense given his choice of weapon. Wrecking Ball falls into the Tank category, and therefore packs a mean punch.

He's one of the Lunar colony's many experiments and originally lived close to Winston, though later fled, modified his escape pod into the titular Wrecking Ball, and took to the outlands of Junkertown.

Blizzard has already rolled out Wrecking Ball to the Playable Test Realm, and will offer up a deep dive on the new hero at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 20. Early impressions however confirm he's packing Quad Cannons, Adaptive Shield, Grappling Claw, and Piledriver among other abilities.
