Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan has been speaking during the latest Development Update video for hero shooter Overwatch, and it seems there's going to be some tweaks to the established content release schedule this year.
In the video, posted below, Kaplan reveals that the Summer Games event, which usually takes place during August, will arrive a little earlier this year, although there was no mention of specifically when. Also of note is that it'll be undergoing some changes – with new week-long challenges that will take place alongside the usual shenanigans that, if completed, will offer some epic-tier bonus skins.
There's also some slightly bad news – in that he also mentions that the game's next hero introduction – which has in previous years has happened around the end of July – will be a little later. Kaplan did also note that the as-yet-unnamed Hero 31 would be male and added "We think the little bit of extra time is going to make the hero even more awesome."
There's also improvements promised for the recent addition of subtitles and closed captions, as well as improved cheat detection. Overwatch has been recieving constant updates since its release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and recently celebrated its third anniversary.
