Overwatch 2 Season 4 recently brought a new long-ranged Support hero named Lifeweaver to the fray. Unfortunately, it seems that most players aren’t big fans of the recently added character due to his “insanely bad” healing kit.

As a Support, Lifeweaver’s abilities and lore naturally revolve around healing and keeping his teammates alive. However, most gamers that have had the chance to try him out in casual scenarios are still seemingly having trouble figuring out how to play Lifeweaver properly.

Now, even though his introduction into the roster presented a much needed addition to the game’s Support offerings, many within the Overwatch 2 community have stated that they don’t see themselves playing him much unless his healing abilities get reworked. This is mainly due to the fact that restoring health takes so long that it often ends up losing teams the match entirely.

One particularly frustrated player has even taken to Reddit to vent out their frustration on the newest hero. Based on their post, they’ve apparently been using Lifeweaver a lot “to try and be ready for his eventual [competitive] release,” but that it’s been a struggle due to his bad healing.

Since you need to charge up Lifeweaver’s healing skill each time you want to use it, helping your teammates recover often takes a much longer time than normal. It becomes even more difficult if you’re restoring health to beefy characters like Roadhog or Wrecking Ball, whose HP totals are naturally higher than any other DPS or Support hero.

For this reason, many are now asking Blizzard to update Lifeweaver’s “unintuitive and clunky” healing mechanics to make it more viable in competitive scenarios. Otherwise, the newest character may just end up being left behind for some of the more useful and classic Support heroes, such as Kiriko and Lucio.
