Blizzard has announced some free Overwatch 2 cosmetics for the community, in order to apologise for the game’s rocky free-to-play launch last week.

The studio has declared that all players will be getting a number of free “to help make up for any lost time” caused by issues surrounding server queues, disconnects and more that troubled the game in its first few days.

As well as a series of Double Match XP weekends, players will be able to nab themselves a Health Pack Weapon Charm and a Cursed Captain Legendary Reaper Skin.

Overwatch 2 free Reaper skin – how to claim

It’s pretty simple – but to claim your free Cursed Captain Legendary Reaper Skin and Health Pack Weapon Charm, all you have to do is login at any time from October 25 until the end of Season One.

The items will be added to your collection from the first time you login during this window. That’s all there is to it.

If you’re after more free Overwatch 2 skins, you’ve still got a few days left to get a free Legendary Kiriko skin via Twitch Drops.

To find them in your collection, head to the ‘Heroes’ menu option, then select Reaper and Skins to see if it’s been added.

In addressing the game’s launch issues, Blizzard said the following “The team continues to work to deploy further stability updates, with another patch planned for later this week, and we are monitoring the game closely for emergent issues and bugs.”

“We’re committed to consistently investigating issues as they arise, working quickly towards fixes and being transparent with our community on the status of Overwatch 2.”

Overwatch 2 is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
