There are currently no plans to produce mod tools for the PC version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Eidos Montreal art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletete has told Strategy Informer.

When asked if the PC version of the multi-format game would include mod tools (something common for PC titles), Jacques-Belletete said: “At this point though there are no plans. We are not working on PC mod tools – now this being said, it doesn’t mean that it’s something we’re just ticking off… we could work on something in the future or out-source it or whatever.”

He continued: “I’m not saying that’s what’s going to happen, I’m just saying it’s not something we had time to do, but it’s something we’re conscious about and you never know what we could do in the future.”

PC gamers will likely be disappointed by the news of no mod tools and will probably point towards the game’s console focus as the reason.

Having been impressed by what we’ve seen of the game so far, being overly critical on the omission would be harsh, and the developer hasn’t completely ruled out tools appearing in the future.
