Despite UK retailer Argos adding an entry for a Silver PStwo to their stock, Sony labelled the product ‘pure speculation’, and that any pictures on the Internet relating to it are ‘completely unofficial’ – such as the one pictured here.
To be fair, the image – which Argos have subsequently pulled from their website – is merely a normal PStwo with a splash of silver coating, but it looked convincing enough to start the rabble on forums up and down the country.
Of course, the speculation regarding the original PStwo was also dismissed prior to release, so nobody would be surprised to see a silver version making an appearance at some point. Further Internet speculation suggests that such a move could be announced to spoil any Microsoft’s announcement, but again, that’s purely conjecture. For now, though, Sony is keeping any such plans close to their proverbial chest.
Expect to hear more if (or should that be when) Sony goes public.
