It seems a Closed Alpha for upcoming action RPG sequel Nioh 2 is set to take place starting this weekend, according to a new trailer and tweet from developer Team Ninja.

The 'Closed Alpha' test, as it's known, will kick off from May 24 and run through until June 2 'to help gather feedback for the development.' There's no word on how selections are getting made for participation in the Alpha, but apparently invites have gone out to some lucky players. Sadly it seems that, in order to 'ensure the team can manage the feedback' Team Ninja have no plans to make the Alpha more widely available at the present time according to a tweet from the company.

On the positive side however, there is a new trailer for the game that announces said Alpha that shows off some new gameplay, giving us the chance to see a decent chunk of gameplay of the game, which we've not seen much of since its announcement last year.

Nioh 2 still doesn't have a release date at this time, but with this Alpha, should we expect to hear of one soon?
