Nintendo has distanced its upcoming NX console from the teraflops race of both the Xbox Scorpio and PlayStation 4 Neo, with Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime telling Bloomberg that content is most important.

“For us, it’s not about specs, it’s not about teraflops, it’s not about the horsepower of a particular system. For us, it’s about the content,” said Fils-Aime when asked about news coming out of Microsoft and Sony regarding new more powerful consoles.

“Nintendo is a content focussed company. We create entertainment that makes people smile. So for us we’re focused on bringing our best entertainment to both the Wii U as well as the NX in the future. So for us, whatever Microsoft and Sony are doing in terms of talking about new systems, that’s for them to fight out in that red ocean.

“For us we want to make sure we bring out best content forward. And right now the reaction to Zelda has been more than we could have ever imagined.”

The likeable exec wasn’t giving anything away when pushed for more info on NX, instead stating that the system will launch in March 2017 and that there is “plenty of time between now and then to share details”.
