Next Fortnite downtime will be extremely long, Epic hints

Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is nearly here as players are still reeling from the aftereffects of The Prelude live event that kicked things off earlier today. However, now that the event is over, the entire island is encapsulated with the Remix graffiti and is ready to take players on a trip back to the OG map.

Fortnite Remix downtime and download size details

Epic Games has announced that downtime for v32.00 begins at 2 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.

However, if you head over to the Epic Games Status website, the “Scheduled Maintenance” time for v32.00 shows 6 AM – 1 PM UTC on November 2, 2024, which means downtime will last for an astounding 7 hours.

This implies that servers will be back online after 9 AM ET, which is usually longer than the downtimes that have been observed in the previous Fortnite season. Given that Chapter 2 Remix will be a full reset of the current Chapter 5 map and gameplay, it’s obvious that it’ll take longer for the files to be loaded onto the server.

Furthermore, Epic has also given a heads-up to players that the v32.00 update will be a larger download in comparison to previous updates. The past few updates have been well under 10 GB, but since this is a seasonal patch, it might exceed that count as per the announcement.
