A barrage of new Warhammer: Vermintide 2 details have surfaced in the latest issue of PC Gamer (via Reddit), confirming the hotly anticipated sequel will up the ante considerably when it comes to grisly death scenes and dismemberment.

While that should keep your bloodlust satiated for the time being, it’s probably also worth knowing what else is in store for Vermintide 2 besides buckets of claret. Chiefly, enemies will have more variation in their factions, while the loot system has been overhauled so that weapons will not only have traits but also extra benefits.

Meanwhile, the new Contracts system will allow players to take part in unique, one-off challenges that cough up loot as a reward. The game’s developer included them as a means of keeping the action fresh for regular players, and allows for creative freedom as they are one-off distractions.

Players will also be able to take advantage of a more flexible career path, allowing you to change up your talents and skill trees if you fancy it. Notable careers include the Zealot, Witch Hunter, and Bounty Hunter.

Finally, the publication revealed that Vermintide 2 will be based around three different arcs spread across 13 levels. There’s a bunch more info available via the above link if you fancy it, but be warned, as there’s spoilers lurking.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is scheduled for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One in Q1 2018. Pleasingly, the sequel won’t feature any paid loot boxes. Yippee!Â
